About Me

1:What is the one domain where you can create genuine clarity for someone? I can create genuine clarity in the space of fraud, risk, and trust operations within fintech, especially where business growth, customer experience, and compliance collide. A lot of people see fraud prevention as just “blocking bad actors,” but in reality, it’s about balancing risk without slowing down the business. Over the last few years at Razorpay, I’ve worked closely with fraud investigations, disputes, chargebacks, RBI escalations, cybercrime coordination, and operational risk controls. What I’m good at is simplifying chaos, taking a complex problem with multiple moving parts and breaking it down into practical, measurable actions that teams can execute confidently. 2:Describe a real situation where someone came to you confused and left clearer. What exactly did you do? One situation I clearly remember was when a junior investigator on my team was struggling with a spike in merchant fraud cases. He was overwhelmed because every case looked urgent, and he was trying to treat everything with the same level of escalation. Instead of immediately giving him the answer, I sat with him and helped him separate “signals” from “noise.” We mapped out the fraud patterns, customer behavior, transaction flows, and merchant onboarding gaps. I showed him how to prioritize based on impact, probability, and financial exposure rather than emotion or pressure. More importantly, I explained why certain patterns mattered instead of just telling him what action to take. Within a few weeks, he became one of the most reliable investigators on the team and later started mentoring others himself. That experience reinforced something for me, clarity doesn’t come from giving instructions . it comes from helping people think better. 3:What kind of person or problem are you NOT the right mentor for? I’m probably not the right mentor for someone looking for shortcuts, instant success, or surface-level motivation. Most of my experience comes from high-pressure operational environments where decisions have real consequences, financial loss, customer trust, compliance impact, or reputational risk. Because of that, I value consistency, accountability, and long-term thinking more than “hacks.” I’m also not the best fit for people who only want validation instead of honest feedback. I believe growth usually starts when someone is willing to question their assumptions and improve their process, not just hear comforting answers. 4: What is one big decision you made in the last 3 years that you'd make differently today? One decision I would approach differently is staying too focused on execution without investing enough in personal visibility and positioning. For a long time, I believed that if I consistently delivered strong results, opportunities would naturally follow. While hard work absolutely matters, I’ve learned that visibility, communication, and professional positioning matter just as much, especially in fast-moving industries like fintech. If I could go back, I would have started sharing my learnings, building stronger networks, and documenting my work earlier instead of keeping my achievements quiet. 5: What is one thing you used to believe about success that you now question or reject? I used to believe success was mostly about working harder than everyone else. Now I think success is more about direction, adaptability, and leverage than pure effort alone. I’ve seen incredibly talented people burn out because they kept pushing without stepping back to reassess whether they were growing in the right direction. Today, I value clarity, strategic thinking, relationships, and emotional resilience far more than just long hours or constant hustle. Hard work still matters, but sustainable growth comes from combining effort with awareness and intentional decisions.
