About Me
Answer 1. Career and professional decision-making — especially when someone is stuck between multiple paths, responsibilities, or growth opportunities. I help people separate what is genuinely important from what is merely urgent, assess their options realistically, and turn an unclear situation into a practical next step. Answer 2. A colleague once came to me overwhelmed by competing priorities, unclear ownership, and pressure from multiple stakeholders. Instead of immediately suggesting what they should do, I helped them break the situation into three parts: what was actually their responsibility, what needed escalation, and what could be delegated or deprioritized. We mapped the stakeholders, clarified the immediate outcome needed, and converted the situation into a short action plan. They left knowing exactly what to handle themselves, what to communicate, and what not to spend energy on. Answer 3. I am probably not the right mentor for someone looking for a shortcut, a guaranteed outcome, or someone else to make their decisions for them. I work best with people who are willing to examine their situation honestly, consider trade-offs, and take ownership of the next step. Answer 4. I would have started being more deliberate about my long-term career positioning earlier. I spent a lot of time proving that I could handle more responsibility operationally before stepping back and asking what kind of professional I actually wanted to become. Today, I would identify the direction first — the type of problems, leadership level, and domain I want to build expertise in — and then choose projects and skills that compound toward it. Answer 5. I used to believe that success meant continuously taking on more — more responsibilities, more visibility, more work, and eventually a bigger title. I now question that definition. I see success more as building valuable expertise, having meaningful autonomy, making good decisions, and creating a life that is sustainable rather than constantly becoming more demanding.
